Mit diesem interessanten und reich bebilderten Titel (allein die 44 Rezepte werden anhand 300 Fotos detailliert vorgestellt) wird es Kindern ab 10 Jahren Freude bereiten, die heimische Küche zu erobern. Zu Beginn weist eine Gebrauchsanleitung den Weg durch die 7 Kapitel (u.a. "Warum schmeckt mir das?", "Wie kaufe ich schlau ein?", "Was gehört in die Küche?"). Im Folgenden lernen die Kinder nach einer kleinen Geschmacksschule (z.B. "Mögen sich bitter und sü?︢") die Tricks der Nahrungsmittelindustrie ebenso kennen wie den Zuckergehalt verschiedener Lebensmittel. Die Erntezeiten von Obst und Gemüse werden vorgestellt, aber auch Küchengeräte, Kräuter ("Was passt wozu?") sowie die optimale Lagerung der Nahrungsmittel im Kühlschrank. Küchenversuche (z.B. "Warum verändert Rösten den Geschmack?") regen zum Forschen an, bevor gezeigt wird, dass aus den gleichen Zutaten völlig unterschiedliche Gerichte gekocht werden können. 44 leckere Rezepte und ein kleines Küchen-Abc runden die Ausführungen ab.
